I'll post this on here, as I'm sure I'd get flamed to all get out if I posted it on the Hawks board, but I have the Preds winning this series.
This isn't the Hawks of 13, and certainly not '10.
Preds are young and hungry, and their goalie is world class. Darling is pretty good, maybe even really good, but Rinne is Rinne.
Hawks D is just too slow after the top two pairings, and it's been an Achilles's heel all season. Well that, and consistent scoring.
FWIW, I had the Hawk's losing this series anyways in the beginning. Preds have a bright future, but I doubt either team is beating the Wild next round. They're on fire. |

Should be a great game tonight. You can bet both teams will be on fire throughout unless the score gets lopsided one way or the other.

I'd love to see this series go 7 games. That game 7 would be amazing. It's too bad that these two teams had to play each other in round 1 due to the NHL's antiquated method of trying to create rivalries. Both of these teams deserve to advance.

Agree. The division was brutal this year. Any of the four teams left is probably good enough to play for the West. |

That's 3 games they gave away. I was hoping lavy would call a time out right before they scored that last goal. Argh! Oh well I guess it's time to strike the pred colors for the yr.

Screw that, I'm a sore loser, I say they get bent over the next round by either wild or blues. I can't wait to hear about the Chicago fans getting lost in east St. Louis. |

The Preds didn't make it easy, that's for sure. Great series IMO. I enjoyed it.

Nashville is so much like San Jose: You hate playing them in the regular season but you just know they are going to underperform in the playoffs.
The Weber deal sucked but Chicago wasn't exactly a juggernaut. Nashville (like San Jose) needs some serious soul-searching. If you can't do it in the playoffs, the rest of it doesn't mean squat.

Hats off to the Preds great series that could have gone either way.
Nashville has a ton of talent with that stellar young d corps and quite a bit of talent upfront as well. Forsberg is already a stud...McPhee got fleeced in that deal with Washington, and Wilson killed us.
Lavvy has done a real nice job there and was a great choice.
Best of luck next season the arrow is definitely pointing up.

I think St. Louis is the new San Jose. Good regular season team with suspect on-ice leadership that will never win squat with the current core.
Preds are in better shape for the future than the Blues IMO. |

Gave it away? Really? Who, except Rinne, was stopping Keith last night? No one, probably including Shea Weber.
Who kept Nashville pinned in their end for long stretches, leading to huge goals (and not just in this game)? The Preds because they wanted to give it away? Or a very, very good hockey team that knows how to win at this time of year.
Give credit where it's due. The better team last night won. You learn from it and hopefully improve for next year. |

I'm not sure you can say this game was given away. They battled for 60 minutes and had their chances. The simple fact is that one team turned it on after a goalie change in the third period and the other was simply overpowered. 13 shots after scoring the third goal midway through the first period. |

Any fan who's team had a two goal lead twice and lost is going to feel like their team gave it away. Doesn't matter how/why it happens, it's just human nature. |

This Hawks team has its own identity. Very different from the cup winners. Still full of guys that know how to win. They will need some breaks, but that are still capable. Just enjoy the ride.

Come on man. There isn't an analyst that picked the Preds to beat the Hawks. And most of the analysts didn't even have the Preds in the playoffs to begin with. Comparing the Preds to the Sharks who have been MASSIVE underachievers in the playoffs is ridiculous. The Preds have never had superstars upfront like the Sharks. The comparison isn't there. |
